Report a Water Well Complaint or Environmental Emergency

Call the Government of Alberta's 24-hour response line at (800) 222-6514. Your incident will be recorded and you will be assigned to an Environmental Protection Officer who will determine whether a contravention of any regulation has occurred.

In Alberta, water well drilling activity is regulated under the Water Act, the Water (Ministerial) Regulation and the Water Wells and Ground Source Heat Exchange Systems Directive. Drillers must have journeyman certification and hold a current approval to drill water wells.
